My New Passion: Romantic Scandinavian Design

My New Passion: Romantic Scandinavian Design
Moss and an artificial snow drop bulb from Depot. Adorable sheep from Astrein Flower Shop.
Ever since decorating a room for my art school/art studio I've been slowly becoming more and more obsessed with Scandinavian design. It is everywhere here in Salzburg, from the showrooms at IKEA, to the traditional eateries that offer pine tables, white walls and skinny fabric hearts hanging from the windows. I would define it as simple and sleek, but sometimes it's missing a little something. That's where the idea of 'romantic' comes in.

I added my own mushroom spin on this pre-made wood vinyl tree from Depot.
'Romantic' to me - means adding a touch of pink, red or neon, and a little something cute or whimsical.

My work area featuring postcards & art from my mom, dad, niece and hubby.
I've been slightly obsessed with everything pastel and gold lately, and am cheating on my favorite color red, with my childhood favorite magenta. (My mom always tells me the story of how I listed that as my favorite color as a little girl, and the teacher was surprised by such an exotic answer.)

Here's just a little list of things that inspire me with my 'Romantic Scandi' home style lately:
snowdrops, candles, hearts, anything rose colored, birds, teacups and paper doilies
