DIY 2 Step Confetti

DIY 2 Step Confetti | Linzer Lane Blog

This little diy project couldn’t be any easier. All you need are two items to create it, and you’re good to go!

Many people have commented over the years that they enjoy my receiving mail from me, because I usually add some sort of 'surprise' confetti inside of the note cards I send.

To make your own, all you need are some small paper punches, and paper. That’s it! Multi colored card stock works best, and making confetti is a great way to use up uneven pieces of scrap paper.

Small children might need a little help with the punching part, and you might want to try out paper punches prior to buying them at the craft store to make sure they aren’t too difficult to use.

Have fun making confetti for every season and holiday - it’s so easy with so many cute punches available.

Watermelon Flower Pot Craft

Watermelon Flower Pot Craft with artist Lady Lucas | Linzer Lane Blog

I made these watermelon flower pots as examples for my art students this week, and enjoyed it so much - I wanted to blog about it! The best part about these adorable flower pots, is that you can design a whole set of them as different fruits a veggies (spotted mushroom, strawberry, lemon slice, etc.)

To make your own watermelon flower pots you will need;

- Terracotta Clay Pots (your choice of size)
- Acrylic Paints
- Paint Brushes

Start with clean, dry clay pot and grip it from the inside. Paint the larger part of the surface bright pink as shown. I added two coats - one after the other - to make sure the color was vibrant.

Next, paint the rim of the flower pot light green. Once dry, add some squiggly lines of dark green paint to mimic the rind of a watermelon.

Lastly, add some seeds using a small brush and black paint.

Use your painted flower pot as a display piece (perfect for art supplies!) or a lovely little plant.

Apple Face Wreath Craft

Apple Wreath Craft for Kids | Linzer Lane Blog | September Craft, Classroom DIY, Teachers, Paper Craft

I made these sweet wreaths years ago while compiling ideas for my Character Crafting book. It's a favorite craft of mine this time of year - and so EASY to make!

Materials:
Colored Card Stock, Glue, Markers, Scissors, Sticker Dots, Paper Plates, String

1. Cut out apple and leaf shapes out of colored card stock.

2. Decorate each apple with a different face. *Ideas* Silly, Happy, Sad, Eyeglasses, Teeth, Surprised, Cute, Funny

3. Cut the inside of a paper plate out using scissors until you only have a ring or 'wreath' left. Glue the apple faces and leaves to to this wreath. Let the glue dry completely.

4. Add a loop of string to the top of the wreath for hanging.

*Stickers make excellent eye glasses and cheeks!*
